Description

Together with the later Four Piano Pieces Op.119, the <Six Piano Pieces Op.118 were the last solo piano pieces Brahms composed before his death in 1897. Composed around 1893, the Six Piano Pieces Op.118 reflect amaturity and sonority inimitable to the repertoire. These are six wonderfully varied pieces, with the beautifully gentle Intermezzo in A contrasting with the immensely energetic Ballade.
